Dropzone 3 App Reviews

63 add

I never write reviews, but this app just made me write one.

I love Macintosh; I sincerely do. However, if there was one thing that I missed about Windows, it would be the fact that on Mac, I can’t directly ‘cut’ files from their original places and ‘paste’ them to somewhere else. I can only ‘copy’ and ‘paste’. Command+X just doesn’t work when moving files. Now this app enables that feature on Mac. MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.

Once I restart after initial installation, will no longer run.

So, I am running 10.10.2 - MacBook Pro from Late 2014 13 inch. After installation of this product, and after I restart one time, the app will no longer launch: THIS FORCES ME TO UNINSTALL THE APP AND INSTALL IT AGAIN. I’m mad. I paid money for this. Next!

Excellent.

Easy to use. Love it!

Useful shortcuts for paperless office usage

Dropzone 3 makes it super easy for me to file PDFs and documents into common folders. It’s tax time so I scan my forms and receipts and use Dropzone to quickly put the files into the right folder for the tax year. Also dropzone makes it easy to launch those less frequently used apps that I don’t want taking up space on my dock. Great utility for my Mac.

Just ok

It does what is says it will do. But I was looking for a little more like being able to setup my on ftp drop box fore saving and retrieving files. It currently only supports uploads only. So it is little use to me, as I need both ways. But the application does work.

OK at best

Other Apps are much better than this. Have not seen the overall usefullness I had anticipated.

Sigh of Relief...

What a fun App !!! Nowdays I send just about everything to Dropzone, and it takes care of the rest. What a lift off my shoulders….

Don’t bug me for ratings.

It’s a resource hog, and it just bugged me for a review so here ya go. Don’t spend your money on this.

Brilliant

The DropZone app makes it brilliantly easy to take something — a website, a document, whatever — and place it in one or more files by drag-and-drop. I do a lot of research and have a lot of documents (paperless, of course). Documents that I want to save for research, I drag to the Evernote icon in Dropzone. Documents that I want to share with others, I drag to the Dropbox icon. Documents that I want to encrypt and save on Dropbox, I drag to Viivo (an encryption program), which encrypts the documents and then saves to Dropbox. I admit that DropZones uses were not immediately apparent to me after I first downloaded the app, but I’m ecstatic now that I’ve figured out how to use DropZone. Caveat — I am not a programmer, and I am aware of other programs that can automate certain tasks if you can write applets. I can’t do that and have no interest in learning how. That said, why bother when this is so easy to set up and use?

Buy another app!

I bought this mainly to upload files to an FTP site. I have Yummy FTP on my home Mac Pro and wish I stayed with this program or one of the other Yummy programs. I can’t get it to work for FTP and as for the other stuff it does I am not even going to explore their use! I am running a 2014 Mac Book with and i7 processor with the latest and greatest OS. Save your $, buy another app!

Nice update!

I love Dropzone. Its an awesome way to short cut access to the apps you use the most. You can even short cut excel or word files you use often.

New Python Support! Amazing Update! Developer ROCKS

This thing just got a whole lot cooler! Quick keys in a visbily obvious location, and Python support for scripting actions! I am really happy. What a practical program.

How neat is this?

Pretty neat.

Easy way to back up files to cloud services

Great, handsome and easy to use. I still use Yoink to plop a file onto for quick access but I love the different Dropzone functions like automatic copying to folders and automatic moving to others. I use it to do no-fuss backups of work files using my dropbox account. Way simpler than finder or keeping shortcuts on the desktop.

A useful, productive 5 Star App!

Of all the productivity apps I’ve used or tried to use in my everyday workflow over the years, Dropzone hands down saves me the most amount of time and integrates seamlessly to my workflow. No cluttered alias folders, easy to install and use, and every update just adds more useful features. I highly recommend purchasing Dropzone. Hats off to Aptonic...

Elegant Usefulness

This sits quietly out the way when not needed and springs to useful life in a highly configurable manner. Great, intuitive interface and quick shortcuts to often used items. Hard to express how useful this is until you have actually installed and begun using it. Highly recommended.

Nice, when it works

The current version of Dropzone does not work for me. I purchased through the App store, but when I try to run it, I get a message asking for my serial number (which does not exist). Perhaps if purchased through the developer, this problem would go away, but I cannot recommend getting it from Apple. It’s on sale for $2 right now, and I would even consider buying it again, but the App store knows I own it, so I don’t have the option of purchasing it. It asks if I want to “install,” and then “Run.” This has been going on for some time - probably since the latest version was created.

Just what THIS clutter-collector needed!

I have a habit fo dropping and copying pictures, screen shots, PDF downloads, etc., onto my desktop … which in turn becomes a cluttered mess! With DropZone, I have gotten into a habit of collecting the similar files, and moving them OFF the desktop, into the folder where they belong! Great program!!! If I had to make any criticism it would be that it’s too subtle, sitting there quietly waiting for MY input [instead of doing ALL the work for me!]

Very nice, and handy

It does exactly what it says, and it does not seem to hog too many resources or integrate itself with too many other things. It does not ‘get in the way’ but rather works to send things to folders, apps workdflows etc. It has become quite handy over time!!

Good when it works

Application makes getting to frequently used folders simple. On more than one occasion, however, it inexplicably stops working: something to do with the Apple store authentication. Then it has to be deleted and re-installed, and the process has hiccups along the way. So the administration may be more trouble than the utility offered.
