Dropzone 3 App Reviews

3.6で追加された新機能で台無し

Ver3.6で追加された新機能『New improved dragging system for opening the Dropzone grid』が邪魔でしょうが無い。

Missing one little feature

I’ve used this app quite a lot for my design work. Being able to drop a file into the drop zones is very useful. But it’s missing one tiny feature that would make it great. It needs an option to automatically pop up when you start dragging. Other than that it’s a super useful application. The addition of the hold zone is awesome too.

Dropzone 3

Love using drop zone 3. Would be helpful if there was a turorial that was less confusing. I am sure I am not utilizing this program fully.

Versatile launcher - Helps keep the Dock (and your Desktop) tidy!

Works great as a launcher for apps you don’t want cluttering up the Dock. I mostly use it to drag-and-drop files to open in apps, onto “hot” folders etc. Version 3 takes it from a 4-star utility to a 5-star utility: • “Add to Grid” - Finally! An easy way to add apps and folders without having to dig into a cumbersome Preferences interface. • Command-drag to re-arrange icons right in the grid - so simple and so right • Love the Drop Bar - kind of a temporary holding space that can be easier - and more fun! - than moving files between Finder windows (especially when dealing with files several folders deep on volumes) …and it’s extensible! You can add (or create) other Actions. I’m probably only scratching the surface of what this app can do. However, these extra features are yours for you to discover as you need them - they don’t get in your way if/when you DON’T need them.

Awesome.

Some applications change the way you use your computer for the better. Dropzone 3 is one of those applications. Excellent work.

Works perfectly on Yosemite - I use this software everyday.

When a piece of software becomes indispensable I try to write a positive review. Dropzone 3 is amazing. I have to share many screenshots. The joy I get when I can drag a screencapture to dropzone for automatic upload to IMGUR is immeasurable. That alone saves so much time daily. I set up a drag and drop for my Amazon S3. Whenever I want to share a large file > 30 MB, I drag it to dropzone and it’s in the cloud and there is a link on my clipboard. For the money you will not be dissapointed.

Dropzone 3

I use Airdrop quite frequently to share files with my business partner. Dropzone simplifies the number of steps to do that and makes the process smoother. One complaint that kept me from rating this four stars - memory usage seemed to be quite high for an app that sits on the menu bar.

Doesn’t launch. Possible conflict with other programs?

Dropzone 3 cannot launch after I upgraded to Yoesemite. Could it be a conflict between dropzone 3 and “uncluttered"?

What Finder & Airdrop Should Be & Then Some

This app is “Finder” on steroids. I’m fanatical about not having folders and other digital scraps clogging up my desktop space. Dropzone is an elegant answer. It may take a few minutes to “get it” but within 3 days made a huge impact on my productivity workflow. A quick way to keep the desktop organised and to share files via multiple communication apps/channels. The ability to customise is a bonus. A good productivity app.

Does what it does incredibly well

Dropbox does what is is meant to do in an incredibly efficient way. Perfectly executed and well worth the money if efficiency is your sort of thing. Well done!

Great Improvement

The new pop-up window when dragging a file is a great and welcome improvement.

purple color iCON

love the app; HATE THE (purple color) iCON that pop up when you drag some files on the desktop… could be made grey? or black? or white? …. simpler-NO COLOR- please?

Request for scrolling toggle.

Would be great to be able to toggle grid by scrolling down, like Unclutter does. Sometimes keyboard is not convinient enough.

Ruslan

it’s usefull app if you have to collect and manage files that come from various sources but should be somehow quikly collected into few batches without their coping. And I would like to say its support is really really helpful and quick. They replied to my email in few minutes and helped me to solve my problems.

Amazon s3 not working!

Amazon s3 connection failed!

Solved one productivity problem already, more to come I’m sure!

Not to be too superlative, but this has opened a new world of actions/possibilities for me in terms of moving files and text to different services and locations. I’m not a huge fan of Finder, so anything that really helps supplement file handling on Mac OS is helpful, and this app is perfect! Also the ability to edit and create custom actions just makes this very versatile. Random Tip: Want to drop video/audio links from the web to Quicktime? (I can’t believe Apple doesn’t let you drag web links to the QT dock icon) Use Dropzone! Problem solved. Here’s how: Use the "Open Application" option (choose Quicktime), right-click and do “Copy and Edit Script”, enable “Text” by checking the checkbox, as you want it to handle both files and text. Close the code text that opens since no edits to the script itself are needed. Your new custom Quicktime action will let you drag links from the web to play in Quicktime. You can then remove the original Quicktime action as it’s no longer needed.

An outstanding app & fantastic developer.

I have used Dropzone for quite a while, and was pleasantly suprised when version 3 was released. It is quicker and more powerful. But I’m not here to discuss features of the app, just realize that it will greatly increase your workflow. And if you know Ruby, it will be even more beneficial (because you can develop your own actions). I do not know Ruby, but was really interested in an action that could send attachments (ie. images of my son) to a specific phone number (ie. my son’s grandparents) via iMessage. I had a working applesript, but after diving through the various other actions, I was lost on how I could piece one together to suit my needs without learning Ruby. I emailed the developer and he quickly created an action that would do just that “Send iMessage With Attachment to Phone Number”. The code is a little more extensive than I originally thought, but perhaps it is easily coded by someone knowledgable in Ruby. I am not advertising that everyone should email the developer with requests to write DZ3 actions, as I’m sure he doesn’t have the time to fill the requests. However, if the idea could be of use to a lot of people, it definitely wouldnt hurt. The power of this software is that each action is editable and essentially open source. Therefore, everyone can not only come up with neat actions themselves, but also learn how to create them by copying bits of code from other actions. The next action I am trying to code is an action for Bittorent Sync that will give you a ‘secret’ key when you drop a folder on the action. Only recommendation I have is a developer collaboration forum, so people can bounce ideas off each other. I think this would really initiate many people designing actions, which would even further increase the value of this fantastic app.

Love this app but...

Its a really good app and I enjoy not having to open full apps to get things done! One minor bug that I found was uploading pictures to Facebook and Twitter, I don’t know if anyone else has this problem or if it’s OS X, very minor problem though. This app is amazing keep up the good work!

So helpful

Candidly, I do not take full advantage of all of Dropzone’s features BUT, the few things that I use it for may my workflow snappy. When doing routine stuff makes you a little crazy, Dropzone can help.

Would have given hi her rating If not for annoying “Rate Me” POP UPS

Dropzone 3 Is a very good App that’s not quite ready for prime time IMHO and still a little buggy that If not for Its annoying drive by start-up "Rate Us" POP-UP would be worth almost 4.5 stars. However Its designers chose greed over function and when an app bugs me to rate It more than once I Usually Uninstall It because software I’ve paid for money for should be trustworthy not sneaky!
